For your information, I like Joomla much better than WordPress because Joomla is more flexible. You can do many things using Joomla. However, I prefer to use WordPress for this blog because :

1.wordpress is already completed, not so much plugin to find:
-Wordpress is already packed with commenting system (not like Joomla).

2.wordpress load faster than joomla:
-I don’t know whether this is true or it just my assumption. But I already made two sites using Joomla 1.0 and 1.5. And their loading made me frustrated.

3.wordpress is simple (but limited):
-Yeah, wordpress is simple. I do not need to think about anything like what is the plugins that I want to choose or how I want to modified them.
-I like to modified things. Since Joomla has a variety of plugins, it took me days to investigate the best plugins and theme for my site. As my advice, if you are ‘cerewet’ like me, using Joomla wil only give you headache. Not the headache because using Joomla, but headache to choose the suitable plugins.

4.Easy to SEF:
-If you’re using Joomla, you can use SH404SEF plugin to SEF your site. It’s great but it will affected your loading time (only a little).

5.Easy photo uploading:
-If you use Joomla, you can’t upload file directly from the internet. You need to download it first before you can upload it to your media manager.
-Unlike Joomla, wordpress has the feature to upload file from URL.

I want to start blogging, which platform should I use?

-Depend on your site. If your purpose of blogging is internet marketing, I encouraged you to use Joomla because Joomla has variety of plugin for marketing purpose.
-If you thing that your blog is just a medium to express your opinions, than WordPress is more suitable.
Anybody out there that are using other than wordpress for blogging? Do you have special reasons behind it?
